no experience with the others, but the aquacontroller can easily control all of that

We're really helping, aren't we. :lol

I have an RK II on my big tank. Powers MH's, VHO's, Fans, heater, Fuge light, powerheads on wave cycle, return pump, and monitor PH.

I use and RK I on my nano for the pump and lights. Just never got around to programing anything else into it.

Yeah what he said... :P I just got my ReefKeeper2 and I can say that it was worth the price (about $325 with pH probe & shipping). It also was very simple to set up and update the firmware. -SoLiD

I pretty much HATE my AQII. It's such a pain in the tail to deal with. That, and it just gets goofy every once in a while. We'll have lights go in the the middle of the night! It is one of the reasons I'm looking at LED systems.

I think he is referring to the built in controller of the Solaris, could be dead wrong as well. After a 3 week debate I chose the RKII for my new tank. I liked the ultra easy user friendly controls. Nothing complicated about it. I've seen some systems that intimidated me to much to buy them. I like the sleek look of the RK, it just looks nice. I've heard of less interference troubles with the DC8 over the X10 plugs. I like not having to write, "If time is more than 10:01AM MH 2 shall sequence to the ON position at A2" in a PC to program the thing. The RK has plenty of features and safety gadgets as well. If you have the time go to Kingfish and have a look see. They keep them in stock and on a tank. You can play with it first.

What Mike said: Yes, I'm talking about getting rid of my lighting system - including the ACII. X10 stinks. Period. Turning table lamps on and off? Sure. Using it to make sure my fish/corals don't bake? Nope.

I must say that at first I wanted to smash the ACJr. into tiny little pieces and then sh#t on them. After 1 1/2 weeks of tuning though I now have no prob with it and it does everything it says it did. I'm using X-10.

So you'll have to justify spending lots of your time to save $100 upfront by not going with the RKII but it's your call because it does eventually work great.

Bill, I absolutley love my ACjr.. i can turn my lights on and off with a couple of mouse clicks on my computer same with pumps for feeding. i just cut my MH light period back today and it took me almost 25 seconds.. would have been quicker if i didn't have a beer in one hand.
