Acrylic scratches

Well, my nano tank finally made it to me in Virginia. When I unpacked it there were scrathces on the tank (deep enough to see but not even deep enough to feel). When I stopped mourning my tanks loss I decided to google acrylic scratch removal. I found a kit and ordered it but it still is not here.

My question is, would a hand kit be enough to remove scratches like that? Has anybody ever done this and have pointers for me?

important thing to remember is that acrylic and water have the same optical clarity... so scratches on the inside, when minor, can fill in w/ water and dissapear... until they fill in w/ coraline. ;)

practice using your scratch kit on an area your won't be viewing much first, seriously, you can cause more damage doing it wrong that just the scratch, optical distortion looks nasty.

acrylic tanks are gorgeous for how clear they are, but i hate how easy they scratch. i'd rather chunk out the change for starphire glass.

I removed lots of scratches on my 240 when I first got it, and I only used one small kit. I love how my acrylic tank looks now, it makes my friggin hair algae look so nice (sarcasm). where did you order from? is it micro-mesh, or more like sand paper attached to foam pads?

micromesh is the best stuff I've seen, followed by any one of the liquid polishing compounds like brillianeeze. Once you get to 12000 grit micromesh, sanding wet, it's pretty tough to see any scratches, more like a haze.
