5 LED's would seem kind of bright to me for a fish tank unless it's a really big tank. I had a little 6 LED device I found and tried out over my 45g. It was way too bright and after blacking out some of the LED's I found I only needed 1 or 2 at the most.

well the whole reason i posted it is because the lights are degreed, not all facing straight down.

Nothing against the idea here either. I just put four sets that each has a double LED over the 140 with is six feet and 24 tall and it's too much. I'm going to try it with just two and see what it looks like.

Hmm I've always liked more LED's that what you guys are using. On my old 55g I had 10 spaced out every few inches. For the 156g, I'm going to have 3 blocks of 10 LEDs. ;)

Yeah Erick, those LED's from computer stores do work great. All you need is a 12v power supply!

lol mix this with some christmas lights that pulse and you got a disco tank! I might try that just to be funny. maybe ill set it up on controllers to give my epileptic fish seizures! justttttt jokinggggg
