Heres the deal I 1st had the super skimmer 125 when the pump crapped out on me they sent me a whole skimmer and didnt tell me to send anything back. On top of that they sent me a 220 instead of the 125 so im happy about that :D HOWEVER i want more skimming so for now i rigged up a RIO2100 thats supposed to flow around 700GPH a 0' head but i switched the impeller to the needle wheel impeller that was on the old 125 super skimmer so who knows what it flows now. Now my question is does anyone have experience/recommend a Needle Wheel pump that flows around 500GPH? I really want my water change pump back and i dont wanna buy the stock one if theres better.

I think the sedra 5000 pumps that amount. Ocean Runner is another good pump but I'm not sure which one you'd need for that amount.

I've never used the ocean runner but heard a lot of good things about it. I did have the sedra on the asm and it sucked a lot of air into the system.

Sedra 5000 is what I used on my small needlewheel skimmer (30"tall, 6" diameter tube)I think the OR 2700 is less powerful; the OR I hear good things about is the 3700. You might also look to see what ER replaced the sedra with. There are also mods for the sedra impeller that supposedly improve it's performance.
