Horizon Pets in Austin

Horizon Pets is an awesome store! They are not an official sponsor yet, but are giving a 10% discount to MAAST members anyway.

Steve knows his stuff! I was in there yesterday and scored a lovely reidi seahorse from him. Almost everything he has is aquacultured. He says it is rare to see anything from the wild in his store.

Also, his prices on livestock rival Aquadome (and that is no easy task). I was surprised how knowlegeable he was on seahorses--that is rare for an LFS. Plus he could tell me where the seahorses were from---another rarity.

I'm heading back over today. This may become my new favorite haunt--even though I have to drive over 30 minutes to get there!

GREAT STORE! Show him that we support our great LFSes and check him out. Truely a great place with superior service and wonderful prices!

Yep another proof that Horizon is a great store. Many selection and great on prices! Well I never really talk to you when I see you bc I don't know you , sorry for that. I believe he get a large shipment on weds of more fish and corals.

how is the store coming along?
Last time I was in there he was in the middle of converting all the tanks and trying to get things cleaned up etc

Just went over again and have cleaned him out of seahorses! ;) Plus, Steve is ordering some more for me! Yipes! :o When all is said and done, I will have 7 or 8 horses in my tank! :blink

The store looks really nice. He is still planning to set up a bunch more tanks, but looks good and clean.

Steve used to own Pet Corral over off of Wm Cannon and S 1st. He saved my butt several years ago when my freshwater tank almost had a major meltdown. Only guy I talked to at the time that really knew his stuff. 8)

More kudos for Steve:

One of the seahorses I bought from him died a day after I put him in the tank (other 2 are fine).

Steve let me swap it out with no problem-- did an even trade with me for a MORE EXPENSIVE fish! 8)
