I have all sorts of problems with the tank....

I am having an issue with shrimp, and I actually had this problems before the damsels, before the broke heater (but maybe the heater was broke alot longer then I thought???) and before all the fish died and for some reason I haven't had an amonia spike or nitrtie spike ?? Weird... I never did find a three inch orange shoulder.

I got a CB shrimp. Put it in.. and it acted normal.. arms up and went under the rocks. That was at like six pm on Monday. On tuesday, I found him on the sand, twitching. Not moving, just twitching. Wed, same thing. And now Thursday, still not dead. Just twitching....

What do you think? Copper poisoning? ?? I dont know how it would get in there but this is what I am leaning towards. I do not have many hermits left but there are still some. I have not seen any of my crabs at all. I know the horseshoe crabs didnt make it, I found them twitching away on Sat. I do not feel any loose currents in the water but ?? I only have a titanium heater, one tunze, and a return pump on my tank right now. And a ground. Thanks Steve from Horizon. Not much for electrical stuff. That is it. I dont think it is electrical but?? Maybe copper was in the heater and leached out??? I dont know... :(

Very sad with my tank... I had two fish die last night. I didnt think they were going to make it... but they had made it nearly a week so I was hoping for the best. There bodies looked like pictures of electrical burns on tortured victims. It was awful to look at. I have a naso that still is not out of the woods.

I am going to take my water to get it tested for copper. I just dont know what is going on....

i dont know about the twitching shrimp, but i remember that when i first started doing this saltwater thing, i added the fish water(from the bag that i took him home in) into my tank. when i did this, my verts would die. turns out, the place i was buying fish from had copper in their fish tanks and i would add that water to my system. very costly and bad mistake.

anyhow, good luck, hope he turns out ok. if so, name him happy feet :)
