Your dumbos are ADORABLE! I miss mine.

Where do you get your plecos- specifically the green? And I love your green zoos!

The picture of your daughter kissing Dr. Ransom is classic. You should frame that one! So I take it your rats are really tame.

The green pleco came from Alamo, the orange seam came from Texas Tropical. Yes, the rat boys are very tame. We picked them up from breeder just outside of Dallas. These rats are bred for pets only. They are handled from the day they are born and are very social and crave human contact. This breeder practically guarantees that her rats will not bite (and they have not once bitten anyone). They are great little critters and super smart.

I will see if I can get up a few pics from work, if not it will have to wait until I get home at 3:00am. I don't think I have any full shots of the freshwater tanks, but I will see.

How are you guys taking pictures of this quality????? I purchased a Canon Rebel XTI and it has a 55MM macro lense and I can not get quality pictures for nothing! I read every where that the Rebel is the camera to have? Did I make a 900.00 mistake?

Kirk, GREAT PICTURES!!

Whoa a pleco nut? You aren't a member of plecofanatics are you? I got kicked off that site.

Let's see here.

2 Xingu Scarlets
Royal Xingu
4 violet brunos, 3 blue eyes 1 red.
acanthicus adonis
cactus
red leopard
4 king tigers
and, ahem, a genuine blue eyed panaque.

Until 2 months back I also had.

6 zebra plecs
2 sultans
4 green phantoms
blue phantom
blue panaque
2 gold Xantos or chubbies
2 gold nuggets

I did a huge water change like always and they all died on me immediately afterwards. Within minutes. Just as always I drained 100g from the 125g (plus another 25 that stays in the sump), cleaned the filters, added the Prime, refilled. Turned out the city was doing some sort of flushing of the home lines and had used a "safe" cleaner. Whatever it was it overpowered the Prime. And as was stated above, nice pictures.

Thanks for the compliment on the pics. You don't need to spend the big bucks on a camera to get good pictures (this may upset some people). The picture of the betta was taken with a $250 point and shoot camera from Costco. All of the other pics were taken with my Fuji finepix 3 megapixel camera (well it can technically do 6 megs, but these pics are 3 meg). You can have the most expensive Leica medium format digital camera but have every shot look cruddy if you don't know how to use the camera. To get good pics you have to know what your camera can do and work with it. Sure some cameras can take better pictures than others, but again you might be surprised what you can do with a point and shoot.

Mike, I would have more plecos but I don't really have the space. Needless to say I am a little jealous of you. Even if I could find a blue eyed panaque, I am not sure I would be willing to pay the $$$$. I wouldn't mind a zebra or two, but again, the $$$ is a problem. We have been wanting a Mango, but haven't really searched them out in a while. I had a really nice gold nugget but he got thrashed by my ancistrus. I am not a member of plecofanatics (although I am a mod on a freshwater board).
