OK, so I'm sitting here doing some quick real estate research for Steve - NaCl_H2O, and out of the corner of my eye, I see a six line in my 55 carrying something around. I jump up, and he has a hermit crab, sans shell, in his mouth. He takes off and hides, so I can't see if it's dead or alive! Anyone else run into this?

Six lines are very aggressive and very creative against all things it can eat IME. I have seen them eat bristleworms, pops, every type of man made food. Mine you to be on the prowl all the time. I would think the only way a sixline would take down a hermit though is if it was already dead, or in the middle of swapping shells.

I think this part is a gamble (although maybe more likely), same as perpermint shrimp and copperband BF for aiptasia.
