Our new house seems to have an electrical problem as it is, I think we have been here 2 months and the power has gone out around 6 times. Now with all this rain, the power has gone out twice just tonight.

I know absolutely nothing about batteries or generators. All I have is a 29 BC and need something to keep that plus a small reptile heater going for the next time the power goes out. Any ideas on a good brand, size, place to buy, etc?

go to altex... about 70-100 dollars for a good sized uninterruptible power supply.

I would just hook the pump up to the UPS. You can go without lights for a good span of time.

Not sure about the reptile heater. That may drain the UPS a lot faster than a aquarium pump would.

The heating pad probably drains more power than a pump since all it is doing is changing electrical energy into heat energy. But you shouldn't have any problems with that load.
