Hydor Koralia 2 & 3 Recall

Seems that the motor housing for the 2 and 3 pumps has the chance of getting water into it and giving you a shock.

Here is an email I just received from Hydor:

Hello,

Hydor USA has asked their dealers and distributors to return any unsold Koralia 2/3 for a nonspecific inspection. There is no retail customer recall in effect at this time.

Please be advised that Hydor's 2-year warranty applies in full. Please feel free to return any Hydor item that is not performing properly.

Basically, if the pump shocks you, send it back and they'll get you a new one.

Since it only applies to #'s 2 & 3, I guess the # 4 is a different motor and not having a problem. I'm fixing to order some # 4's.

No problems yet with my 3, and I stick my hand in the tank all the time.

Correct, the 1 and 4 pumps are fine.

The Koralias use three different bodies; 1, 2 & 3, and 4

If he's up to it, I'm going to want 2 #4's. Maybe put together an order for the frag swap? That's the only day I'll be in Austin, and I'm guessing his store won't be open while the frag swap is going.

The store will not be open when the frag swap is going on (we want to be there) but if ya'll are serious about wanting some of the Koralia 4's, I'll get a price for you. Let me check tomorrow as I was already planning on ordering 10 of them.
