I have a BiColor Angel that is decimating my corals. I need to get rid of this bad boy, very badly. Catching would be preferred, but I need him gone, no matter how. While many of the fish in this tank will virtually eat out of my hand, this SOB (son of a bicolor?) is elusive and shy as you could get. He just sees me walk up to the tank and is gone under the rocks.
Any (and I mean any) ideas would be greatly appreciated.

catch him and take him to your local lfs, they might even give you store credit for him

LOL. We have been trying that for over a week now. Anytime he sees anything (like a net) even enter the water, he runs down and behind the LR. Although I have someone who doesn't have corals I could give him to, that is not the concern. You can't get this guy.

There are some fish traps you could try. I'm not sure where you live but some LFS should carry one or be able to order one. There are some on the Drs. Foster and Smith website too. I was able to catch a few damsels with DIY trap, but the angel might be too big for that one.

i built my own trap out of acrylic and caught a cherub angel that had eluded my nets for weeks, trap took 3 days, put food in it and he will come eventually.

Use the coke bottle trap. This trap helped me catch my coral beauty that loved to munch on my sps. www.floridadriftwood.com/fish_trap.htm

Dang! Wish I had seen this earlier. This morning/afternoon, after pulling out about 90% of the corals and rocks we caught him. But thanks nevertheless.
It1z28,
I'm bookmarking this site. Thanks.
