Not sure where they came from but I noticed what I think are red bugs. They a re bright red spec s on one of my sps. I have put in some live rock recently and they may have come from these. I always dip my corals befor egoing into my tank so thats why I'm thinking it came from the rock. Where can I find interceptor or does anyone have any I can have?? I will be treating my whole tank (70gals+fuge) so any help is greatly aprreciated. I'm not in full panic mode just yet because Ive only seen it on one frag, but I want to nip this in the butt.

Does it hurt anything to use the "flavor" tabs of interceptor? My plan is to use 1 adult pill(51-100lbs) then treat 2 more times after first treatment. Is this overkill? I saw previous post where Brian used 2 tabs to treat his 150 and I have a 70gal+fuge.

I hope not!!! I always treat my corals before they go in my tank. But I never thought to treat the live rock. The live rock was just put in. And I just noticed 1 of my corals had small red speck. red bug generally only like smoothed skinned sps.. Sorry for the worries, but how did you treat them before?

I did a small iodine dip and hope that it was good enough.

I have too many to take out and dip. Alot have already attached to the LR so I need to do an in tank treatment. If anybody has 3 tabs of interceptor they can spare that should be enough for my treatment.

Yeah if you let them get out of control too much they can damge some acros. Thats why I want to stop it now.

antnony, i know it seems like it, but it really isnt as bad as it seems right now. the treatment is easy, and i have never lost a coral because of that treatment. if you have any questions about it, just gimme a call - if i had any interceptor, i would let you have it.

Thanks for all the help everybody, Ace brian, and christina you'll be hearing from me soon. ;) . I have only seen it on 2 acros for now and I have already dipped those. I just want to get this thing before it gets out of hand.. I will start removing evrything I can shrimp wise from my tank to save as much as possible. Anyone know how to get a Blood fire shrimp out??

Update its been 2 days and I haven't seen any more bugs. I was able to remove about 30 hermits 1 acro crab and 1 skunk cleaner. Unfortunately I think I lost my blood fire shrimp. Will treat again in 2 weeks to make sure they are all gone, but everything else seems OK. BTW does anyone know if the little acrocrab will be okay w/o a host acro??

The treatment was very easy (thanks to Brian, Christina and Ace) just dissolved 1/2 a tablet of interceptor waited 7 hrs added carbnon and ran the skimmer very wet. The wrasses had a field day eating all the dying copepods.
