I love the hobby, but financially its not going to be a great year and Im not getting results I woul like to get for anyone who has sold a whole system is it better to part out and make a whole list of everything? Or try to sell complete?

Selling complete=almost impossible sorry to say
The best method Ive seen is setting up a fish store type day. Have a day and time set where everybody can come over first-come-first-serve and buy stuff.
Sorry to hear youre getting out. WHen I wanted to give it up for a while I just bought my little 22g nano and kept everything I really liked and knew I would have a hard time getting a hold of in the furure.
Good luck

Just curious but what do you have that you will be wanting to get rid of as far as a whole system goes?
I'm going to be looking for a 135ish in size tank/stand/canopy and whatever else.

I tried to sell mine complete for a fraction of what it was worth with no luck at all. I parted it out and made close to double what I was asking for it complete, didn't try to just listed stuff for what it was selling for and it sold fast by the piece. Not sure why more folks don't want complete systems, the ones I have seen are almost always a steal.
Man I miss my tank, you really should consider downsizing not liquidating it sure is lonely without a tank.

OK, got my attention.
What does the stand/canopy look like, that's the kicker for my wife since she wants them to match the houses other wood furniture. Also a price range you're looking for.

You happen to have any pics you could send me. Any other details like if it has built in overflows, any lighting, pumps etc. you may have and want to sell.

Hey!!! you're still around. cool.. I thought you were gone for good to never return to the forum. How's everything going??? You all need to come back for a BBQ. My tank has went thru several changes since the last time you seen. Come over and take a new look and plan on staying for dinner and a beer :)

If you do decide to get rid of as a whole let me know what you decide you want for it all.
Hope you can find a way to stay in some way.
