I am lookin to get a RO unit now that im gonna make my 100gal. tank a reef also. I want to know what gonna be the best unit for me being that I live in a apt and really cant run water lines and put big holes in the wall. In other words can these things be hooked up to say my kicthen sink or washer water input? What are some good name brands i should look for? Which should i stay away from?

Try these guys, they are on ebay too:
www.aquasafecanada.com
I have 1-1/2 units from them (basically rebuilt a Coralife piece-of-junk). Been VERY happy with them, and their prices are hard to beat. If you don't find exactly what you are looking for, email Ed and he will put it together for you.
Others around here really like Buckeye.

I have a 75gpd unit with 3 prefilters and DI if you want it for $50. I installed the filters and never used it. Also comes with a $50 dual TDS meter and a complete set of Ebay replacement filters.

imo you get what you pay for. Those ebay units come with some craptacular stuff compared to units you can buy that cost just a little more. I just got a typhoon from airwaterice for $150+shipping that I love so far, and I am also in an apt. You get to choose an adapter type for free. I just chose a faucet hookup. Whenever I use it, I pull it out from under the sink and just set it on the counter. I run the wastewater line into the sink and the product line into a bucket.
Buckeye also had some very nice looking units when I was shopping around

You CAN call many of the ones out there junk. But mine from www.aquasafecanada.com are SO superior to the junk I have from Coralife. All good quality components and fittings.

Be careful what you buy, and do you best to underrstand what it is you're buying.
Some easy things to look for:
specifications on all filters
pressure gauge
flush valve
clear housings
quick connect fittings
aluminum bracket
Some easy things to avoid:
horizontal DI stages
small DI stage
GAC after the DI
inferior quality prefilters
no-name membranes
membrane specs that don't match the touted system's claimed output

Anyone know where I can buy the standard 10" clear housings locally? I tried Lowes but they didn't have the kind I wanted.
