skimmer issues

I have a Euroreef skimmer in sump that I have been having a problem with lately. Basically, it does just great and then all of a sudden, it overflows over the top. I use the gatevalve mod and the water level is stable. Is there something wrong with the pump?

does the water level in your sump fluctuate, this happens to mine when the sump needs make up water added.

No it doesn't since I have an auto top off...

When that happens witha skimmer t usually means the water level is too high, there is too much air coming in, or a combination of both. Do you have a valve on the air intake?

yes but i guess it was clogged since the water level in the skimmer went down drastically when i ran some warm ro water through it...is this right??? :unsure

Well I guess the water level went down because the water clogged the air tube. Did it go back up and fill back up with bubbles after the tube cleared of water?
