Holy COW!! I got my tunze's today and they are really moving some water! an sand, and algae, and corals :lol :lol :lol

I expect it will take me a couple days of tweaking to get it right and the magnets will help a little too when they come in.

What is your ideal setup?

Any experiences or tips to maximizing these tunze's?

Thanks

Rob

Ahh the power of Tunze! My 6000 on my old 55g worked wonders!

What size tank do you have? Usually the best way is to have either pump in the back corner of the tank facing the front center pane of glass. Or you can face them on either side...just depends on your rock work. Maybe someone can chime in on the multicontroller settings since I only used the single controller.

Oh and my ideal setup would be 60 6200's in a hot tub :lol :)

One Tip...
If you get a weird algae that keeps growing over the intake screen and it's really hard to scrape off then DO NOT get the bright idea that you will kill off the algae by sticking the intake cover in the microwave. The cover shrinks and won't fit back on >_<

Was it maroonish in color? Sheet like too? I had the same stuff growing on my pump in my old tank. Kinda let it be until it started to cover the intake too much. Then scrubed it off in the sink one day...

Yeah kinda brownish, maroonish and sheet like and very rubbery and slimy feeling. I don't know what it was but it only grew on the stream, no where else in my tank. It was really hard to get off. Wirebrush wouldn't work so I had to use a knife to scrape it off which still was not working well so I did the microwave thing. One of my many, many DUFUS awards.

Yeah mine was like that too. Even hard to scratch off with fingernails if you tried. Must be that Tunze secret ingredient ;)

I was wondering what that stuff was. I have it all over the intake of my wavebox. I let mine sit in vinegar and scraped it off with a razor.
