i think it was Gary that made this suggestion and i would like to second it,,,, that we start having the meetings at a nuetral site such as a restaurant with a banquet room... this way people could take care of their own food and drink and we are not trying to cram 50 people into someones home... i did the last meeting and will be more than happy to host another one if needed... i just think financially and logistically we would be better off.. Plus a couple of dedicated meeting sites in each city would make it easier for newbies to attend and not feel out of place showing up at someones home... just a thought.. we could also organize a bi annual tank tour. so we can still get our fix of tank veiwing.....any ideas

More in Corpus please. There are a few of us down here then there are the Valley guys who I'm sure would live a shorter travel time.

And yes I am volunteering my house. You might not want to look at my tank but the house is open.

Howdy, hope I'm not out of place.

Sam's Burger joint has a large meeting room in the back. Its really a separate building with a stage and they will provide a Mic. I don't know how many it will accommodate but it should be more than enough. I am in another organization that has over 120 members they don't all come to the meetings but, we have ample space. They do not charge use to use it. I think there is a understanding that the members will be customers for the most part. The food is very good and the prices are not bad at all. Check it out.

I did go my 1st meeting at Aces house. It was great! I really enjoyed it. Seeing his tanks put mine to shame (they opened my mind to the real possibilities in reef tanking). The food was great. What can I say? It was a wonderful 1st meeting. The one thing that I did not get out of it was the meeting part i was in the other room. I could only here bits and pieces of the knowledge that was being handed down It was something about sand beds thick or thin? Everything else was loss to the muttering in the other room. This, with what must have been the most stressful week of Ace's summer. (I don't mean to speak for you Ace, I'm sure you loved hosting the meeting. It showed. Guess I'm pulling from my own past hosting for other party's) The point is if you let someone else do the cooking and cleaning, you can pay more attention to having a productive Meeting that is much less stressful on the host and all that may have helped her/him. If you have them the same time same place every month or every other month there is less confusion and probably more attendance.
Thanks, Bexar
