found a new urchin at a great price 100 bucks would it support my 72 gal system for a reef on a budget is it a good skimmer or should i stick with my seaclone

Never used a aqua c urchin so I can't comment on that particular skimmer

...but I have been one of the unlucky ones to use a seaclone and my advise is anything (except a prizm) will skim better than a seaclone ;)

Urchin might be ok for a smaller aquarium, maybe 55 gallons or less, but I wouldn't use it on a 72. On my 45 it worked well enough, but I really had a lightly stocked tank, with very few fish. Anyway, I think there are better choices for not much more money. Maybe some other people will chip in with more ideas?

Good question. I will piggyback if that is okay. I am in the market for a new skimmer for my 90 gallon. Suggestions? Nothing outrageously expensive either!

I'm using two coralife super skimmer 220's, one on a 215 and one on a 180. Both are working very wel, outperfoming an ev240 and a pm beckett skimmer. Good deal for the price IMO. I'm not so sure of the smaller one as they supposedly use rio pumps, YUCK!

I was wondering about those skimmers and getting the larger ones for my 90. Txstate...that may be an option for you as well.

I am currently running the Urchin Pro with Mag 3 upgrade on my 65g with an additional 20g in sump and it has been working like a champ. I have sps, lps in my tank.

well thats what i was gonna go with was a corallife although i had some offers from mike to get me a good deal i just dont think my reef needs a silver spoon in its mouth yet i know 5.0stang uses the 125 what kind of a pump does the 125 have instead of a rio?

yea i know but right now im running a clone which isnt doing much over part of my tank i can see the crud on top of the h20 however plenty of folks that i have heard from have run the coral life skimmer and have no problems with it but if my paypal claim goes thru then i will get an ASM but we will have to see for right now i think its gonna be a corallife 220
