It's cold, I'm bored, and I'm poor. You know what that means???? Possible upgrade! :lol
I cant go anywhere so Im dreaming up a new tank, it'll go something like this.
75 gallon shallow reef, 36Lx24Wx20T frameless minimalist Japanese design
OR
60 gallon shallow reef, 36Lx24Wx18T frameless minimalist Japanese design
Lighting will be supplied by a 36" 8x39w ATI Powermodule T5 Fixture
Filtration/circulation will consist of a Sump/refugium and an ATI Bubble Master 150 Skimmer, and two Tunze 6025's
Here is Vicskimmr's 75g, I really like the dimensions:

I really like ReeferMonkey's tank which is the 60g. Here is a pic of his that Im drawing inspiration from, especially the stand.

Thats it so far.
I love the clean look of Japanese tanks:

Are those sea swirls being used as return lines? That last tank is nice, lot's of room for coral to grow.

I think Im going with the 36x24x18. Im about to order the light, but it will take about a month to arrive in the US.
I may go with a smaller euroreef instead of the Bubble Master 150

Nah, you said you were going to get the Bubblemaster, don't back out now. Bubblemaster or I'll have no faith in you.

Whew! I ordered the light, should be here in a month to a month and a half.
The BubbleMaster 150 is also on backorder and would arrive around the same time, with a pricetag of $400.
Im going to do a little more research but Ill probably end up ordering it

Will somebody please tell me what the lights are in the 3rd and 4th set of pics? Are they simply screw in flood lamps? I've seen a few similar MH lamps that were 39w units used to pinpoint lighting in jewelry stores but they only came in 3-4K. Am I the only one that noticed those?

Thanks, I hope to have everything ready to roll in a month or two.

Sean since this is still all in your head at this point, why not reverse the calfo and have it on the outside of the tank like Green Mako had done? It's a really nice idea and frees up even more space.

That would be ideal, but in order for the company to cut the weir in the glass they use a special waterjet and it raises the cost about $300

How do you keep fish out from the drain area? No teeth or not drawn?

The 1.5" return towards the bottom of the tank, is that for a closed loop return or a sump return? Just seeing how you will prevent 75% of the tank from siphoning to the floor...
I like the tank size though :) Very sleek. How many gallons would it be?

That return line will be omitted, it was just on reefermonkey's CAD, but he opted to go without it as well.
It works out to be right at 67gallons
