Power Alert Product

I just saw this and thought how stupid this is (I usually notice when my power goes out all on my own). Can anybody see a use for this? Unless it's hooked up to a phone line to call you if you are out I just don't get it. :huh

Heck I have dogs that go crazy when lightning strikes and the power goes off. They all jump into bed and let you know something is wrong. :o

If you hooked it up on the load side of your GFCI, it would tell you when your GFCI was tripped? Other than that buy a UPS system and that beeper is loud when you lose power.
