Old question, new favorites?

Time to buy MH (mogul) bulbs again :( What are the current favorites among MAAST members?

400w 10K moguls - looking for crisp white, NO BLUE! Current bulbs are reeflux 10Ks, can't say I have been 100% pleased with these.

I have Hamiliton 14K DE - it took a few days, but now I really like the color. It was a bit blue at first.

I run 10K Reeflux 250w with actinics on my 200 gal. tank and 12K Reeflux 250w here at work with no actinics. All are powered by coral vue electronic ballast. On my other tank at home which is a 58, the 2 - 175w 12K Reeflux are 11 months old and still have not lost any life according to my light meter and my corals. Remember Reeflux lamps are made for Electronic ballast, so if your not using electronic ballast you are losing about 25%

My favorite 250w is Icecap. I'm sure their 400 is just as nice.

I was told that the PAR on the 12K reeflux was the same as the 10K just the addition of blue. Has anyone heard differnetly? I have noticed alot of growth since adding my 12K reeflux though.

I need 400w E-Ballasts! Lots of 250w options, not many 400w (120v) options. Anyone w/400w E-Ballasts that can offer suggestions?

I really liked the ones below in the past when I had them. I've been running ARO's since switching to 250 watts but that was because it's what they came with. I think I'll be selling my current lighting and buy these in the 250s and use them with the DE bulbs and lumenarc pendants. I just need to see if then Lumenarc comes with the glass in place or at least set up for it to be put in easily (glass is cheap). If not possibly use these new pendants and see how they work out since they are built somewhat to the same style.http://www.hellolights.com/25lumax3hqip.html

Sorry Steve all I have is 175 and 250 Coral Vue Ballast and Reeflux lamps. But I have been pleased with these two sizes. In both of these when I use electronic ballast the lamp puts out 25% more light.

Ok, I'm thinking of moving all 6 MHs to 250w E-Ballasts and DE bulbs :)

I have asked a few vendors for their best price on:
- 6 ea IceCap 250W E-Ballasts
- 6 ea 250w HQI DE sockets
- 6 ea 250w Reeflux DE Bulbs

Any local vendors out there want to make a quote? :) PM me

Anybody interested in buying four 400w and two 250w magnetic ballasts? I'll make you a good deal!

I would think with that change you will see a significant change in your electric bill. :w00t
