I am going to run two 250 MH over my 100gal which 60" long X 18" wide X 20" tall. I a wondering if I should go with two ballast or one dual ballast? and 14000K bulbs

I am running single ballast, if there is a warranty issue you are only out one ballast and you can limp on one for a while. If you want the deep water look go with Reeflux 12K, they are a whole lot brighter than typical 14K lamps. And when I had one 14K 250w and one Reeflux 12K 175w next to it, you could not tell the difference between the two. (Other than the 175w was brighter) The only thing is they are 20% brighter on electronic ballast because they are made for electronic/pulse start ballast.

I agree with Alton, running a dual ballast could leave you "in the dark" if there is ever an 'issue'....

Ok I will prob go with 2 single ballast. Now what kind of starting should I get? Magnetic or pulse

I'll tell you I really like my Icecaps. Get electronics so that you can run just about anything thrown at you. You should be able to fire Reeflux SE bulbs or if you fancy DE bulbs, it'll do those to.

You should probably decide which bulbs you want to run, then get the ballast that's best matched to the bulb. Sanjay's site has lots of info about this.

I'm running the Hamilton 14k DE bulbs on the ARO elect ballast and like the look of them.
