They sell a ton of them on EBAY. I know where there are several in ATX for about $40. In fact I just sent a friend over to get one for his fuge. His $50 bulb burned out from being bumped. I said to heck with that, get this. Instead of removing the photo eye like recommended we moved it to his canopy. When his lights go off, bam his fuge comes on.

You should think about adding your location to your profile so it would be easier to help.

Unsure where Pampa is but if you are ever in Austin...

Try looking up Flourex. IS this the one you are looking for? http://cgi.ebay.com/Fluorex-500-watt-CFL-Grow-Light-HPS-MH-1000-400-600_W0QQitemZ250062752843QQihZ015QQcategoryZ42225Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

This one is crazy expensive. trust me you can walk into Hdepot around here and walk out for about $50 or less. I abo****ely love this light.

Do they have a similar light that is a little bit smaller and less output? My fuge is only 14"x14" and I have a glass door on the stand. The 75 watt bulb lights up the room at night as it is. If this is as bright as it says, it would be like daylight in the room.

Thanks,
Kevin

Would be like daylight. There is now a much smaller, like 15E version for use as a replacement for halogen work lights. Check out hte Lights of America website and click on product guide.

Just saw this on the HD website. This would probably work OK for me. It only claims to be like 300W from 27 actual Watts. http://www.homedepot.com/prel80/HDUS/EN_US/diy_main/pg_diy.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@0460595398.1166848879@ @@@&BV_EngineID=cccfaddjjkkmlilcgelceffdfgidgnj.0& CNTTYPE=PROD_META&CNTKEY=misc/searchResults.jsp&MID=9876&N=2984+4233&pos=n12

Chicken Eye, you might want to check it out.

Thanks,
Kevin

I'll bet you a dollar that if you go to the service desk at your HDepot the will transfer a light from another store free of shipping charges.

Most of them are not on the site. You just need to go there and tell them what you want. I can get the SKU's if anybody needs them.

I'm willing to pick up and ship any lighting you far off folks need. The Depot is about half a mile from my house.

The problem with HDepot is they only stock what is needed at each individual store. I found this out once when I went to build a shipping crate. I wanted 1/4" ply. I stopped in at a local HDepot and they mostly stocked 5/8th's chipboard and 2x4's. They told me they were in a new housing area and stocked materials for home builders. I'd need to try a HDepot in an established area for "hobby" stuff. Sure enough across town they had the 1/4" ply.

I'll try to make a run over there tomorrow after work for the HDepot Sku's.

Hey thanks for all the help I finally found them they were out of stock when I went last time and they had them mounted on the wall at the very top and us short people have a hard time seeing them.

One question what all did everyone that has one do with the light sensor? I just put electrical tape over it and it works great fits perfect on my 55 gal fuge. I will be buying another one and have two on it will this over do my fuge?

I cut the photo eye out the first time I got one and soldered the wires together. The last few I've set up for friends I moved the photo eye up to the canopy so that during the lights on, the fuge was off. As soon as the tank went off the fuge came on..... No extra timer needed.

The recommended spread is 18" from center. So 2 would probably be more than enough.

Erick, these are flourescent lights that come in high wattage, small pendants that just happen to come in 6.5K spectrum. They are perfect for plants and fuges. All that for $40. Aint' bad.
