Ok, so it isn't an emergency but I figured this belonged in the emergency forum.
My 40g breeder blew a seam today. Thankfully I was at home when it happened and caught it before the seam let go. You know that wonderful feeling of walking up to your tank and thinking, "where did that water come from." It was coming from the left front edge of my tank.
So, I 'fixed' the problem and started the joy of finding a place for all my livestock.
I don't call this an emergency because I have the space to move everything. But I had to share this picture.

Oh boy!
Don't you just hate when this stuff happens?
I'd invest in a new tank ;)

Good thing you caught it in time.
IF you don't mind me asking how old was the tank and who was the manufacturer?
Thanks.

I guess I am getting old. Never heard this one before...great word!!
Seems like there have been a lot of problems with leaks/busted seams lately. Glad you were able to contain yours....literally.

same thing happened to a buddy this weekend. I GAVE him my old 110 tall cause i just didn't want it in my garage anymore. we stripped the silicone and re-sealed it and put it up a couple weeks ago.
friday he calls me and tells me there is a stream of water shootgin out of the seam into his living room. --guilt-- :(
turns out the plastic stripping on the top of the tank must have cracked when we were re-sealing it or something, because you can litterally just pull it off the tank now.
he's happy though, he now has a 120.

Tank age: OLD, probably built in the 80's
Tank manufacturer: Not sure, possibly Oceanic
I have had the tank running for 5+ years. It lost its center brace about a year ago. I bought it used in College Station and have moved it at least twice with the live sand bed in it. It sucks that it broke but the tank has been great.

Yup! This one was not nearly as exciting as the 150g that let go when I was not at home.
