does anyone else use an aqualifter pump to feed your kalk reactor? I was using a dosing pump but got tired of replacing the drip sets.
The problem i am having is breaking the siphon now.

i have my freshwater container on a shelf about two feet above my sump, the aqualifter sits on top of the container, putting the aqualifter about three feet above my sump. The aqualifter is plugged into my auto top of controller. when the aqualifter comes on it pumps freshwater into my kalk reactor that is on the floor next to the sump. this causes the kalk reactor to build up pressure, pushing fresh lime water into my sump at a fast drip.
The problem is when the aqualifter turns off, it creates a suction, therfore it still feeds freshwater into the reactor. Which makes it keep dripping lime water into the tank, but at a much slower rate.
yesterday when i put more kalk into the reactor before i caught the problem my ph jumped from 8.0 to 8.46.
is there anyway to break the siphon so it doesnt keep feeding the reactor?
thanks.......

Try moving your water container to the same level as your sump, sounds like gravity is still at work when the pump turns off.

i will have to make more room to get everything down on the floor.

I have a 35 gal RO resevoir that sits above my Kalk Reactor , my reactor is plumbed to my sump through a float valve.. as long as the float valve gets cleaned once or twice a month, it works great with no pumps
