Mushrooms are Falling Off

I am new to the hobby but I was just curious if it is normal for mushrooms to just fall off. I know this sounds like a stupid question but ever since I introduced a new powerhead they developed a slime off of them and now several of them are on the sand. I know they reattach but I just want to make sure everything else is ok. All my water paremeters are ok but I did have a nitrate spike that was at 80 and so far I have managed to get it down to 40. Any ideas or help would be great.

Mine do the same. They just attach somewhere else and all is good. Probably didn't like the new flow where it was.

Hopefully they left a little bit of their body behind. Gross right? If so they will clone a new shroom in the old spot.

Thanks for the replies. I just get a little nervous when things start moving because its so easy to screw up in this hobby.
