my only problem is that i dont know how long i have got tell im sent to Iraq...../cry...lol....i had to sell all my live stock before i left AZ ...and i got rid of my tank and stand cuz i knew the army would break it if they shiped it..now im wondering what size tank to get next....my last tank was a 80 but i think i may go smaller this time...but with a bigger sump and fuge. i did keep all my hardware so it should nt be to hard to get a tank up and running...are there any members down here near killeen??

Welcome back to TX. Maybe we can get you to make an appearance at a metting so we know that you do actually have a face. :)

I think we have about 5-6 folks from the Hood/Killeen area.

Austin isn't too far either and there's several from around that area. Glad that your back in TX and keep us updated on new tank plans. I always thought if I went smaller I'd like a 30 cube or so.

Hood Howdy!!

Welcome to the area, I'm really pretty new at this (8 months) so I'm probably not much help, but I do know the best place for corals around here is Austin IMHO. Haven't had much luck in Waco really.

I work on Hood, great job! I also retired from the Army there (or is that here?) in 2k

Welcome Again

Welcome back and thank you for serving! I was at Hood myself for a few years quite some time ago... :) For what it's worth I really like the 80 gallon size tank - a reasonable amount of depth and height but it still fits in the 4' long footprint. THe tank length has a great deal to do with the cost - of course, a 140 is even better, but you wanted smaller not bigger. I had a 30 gallon high tank for a few years and that was interesting. The 24x24 viewing pane gives a nice symetrical tnak look but you are somewhat limited by the tank's depth and width.

Ft Huachuca, AZ I use to live in Yuma.....whered you get the water for your tank out there...squeeze it from a barrel cactus...lol...good to see theres a few others in the killeen area that are into saltwater.
