I would say, are you sure you need it?
Have you tested the water first?

the test probably wont help you much - even if it shown no phosphates, there are phospates that it wont test for that you may have.

best water test - do you have a nuisance algae problem? if so, you probably have a phosphate (and maybe a nitrate) problem.

yea I get some algea on the sandbed in the corner..... I was just thinking that a phosban reactor was like a skimmer or calcium reactor nothing but a good thing?

VERY debateable. you can take too much phosphate out of your water, and that isnt good either.

I use two of them on my 125g. One I run Purgin and the other Rowa-Phos. I just tapped into my return line and gravity feed them. No need for a pump.

HERE (http://www.marshreef.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=17767&hig hlight=two+fishies) is some pics of them. I built a holder out of plexi for the small sock filter they dump into.

Just be sure to gate them down to a trickle as you do not want the media to dump out.

You should test for phosphates first and see if they are high. If so, then run a reactor or sponge.

i just ordered a phosban reactor from dr smith and foster.. for 33bucks. pump was 12 bucks plus shipping total was 57 bucks.. i guess with a can of phosban it relates to abt the same for me other than warranty from manufacture compared to what u get from ebay?
