Been having problems with some of my acros lately, I went and bought some new test kits today and Wow my PH,Cal,and Kh were way high. PH above 8.6 CAL almost 600 and KH about 270 PH should be 8.1-8.3 Cal should be 450 KH should be 105-125. What would you guys suggest I do with the water besides a water change and stop dosing kalk Suggestions Please Thanks

Thats why I suspected I had bad test kits some acros were starting to STN from the bottom up.

I would just do water changes with IO not a reef salt like reef crystals, oceanic, kent etc.

Hmm, base up is usually Phosphate problems. Water change will help that too.

Do you have a PH monitor? If you don't I'd get one.

Is your RO/DI unit working well still?

Doing water change this a.m. 20+gal with IO no I dont have a PH moniter need to get one, will have to check TDS on RO/DI Thanks guys. Maybe if I'm lucky my tanks will look like yours some day.

Well, I hope it doesn't look like MINE right now! My CA reactor's been down for 2 months, my Ozone Generator is broken......and too much calurepa is growing!

OH, also Barry, IMO, a ph meter is about the single best monitoring thing you can get.

A Ph monitor is an absolute must if youre dripping kalk. Id just continue topping off with freshwater until your parametrs go back to normal. Water changes never hurt though.

Your ph test is pretty close for your high alk. At normal atmosphere CO2 levels you can always know the ph unless you've really screwed things up by dosing too many chemicals. I can't rememeber the last time I checked ph on my tank. I just keep an eye on the alk and keep my house aired out so I don't build up CO2 levels in the room, which will drive down the ph. That's a real common problem this time of year with the mild weather because ac/heat is not running as much. Lot's of stuffy houses LOL.
