CB Pets' Coral Food

Well, I was having a few problems with my SPS a few weeks ago and lost alot of stuff. I started doing more water changes and then started dosing with the "Coral Food" that CB carries and after 2 weeks my SPS and other corals look amazing. Their colors have drastically improved, their polyps look like they are trying to jump out of the coral theyre so fuzzy, and the best part, no more death!
I dont know what this stuff is, but the SPS seem to love it!

also good to know, when I got the live rock in my 120 and started dosing that stuff, (about 2 weeks after i put the live rock in)

my LR started pooping, litterally, i think it just feeds the bacteria in the rock, amazing stuff.

it's a brand name, I think it's made by HIATT, the same company that CB pets get's it uber carbon from, but I am not sure. as far as I know, CB is the only shop around that carries it.

Yes it is made by Hiatt. It is not a food in and of itself. According to Hiatt it makes organics in the water into a form that corals can consume resulting in cleaner water, kind of a vague description. What I think it does is feed bacteria, bacteria consume organics in the water and are then consumed by the corals. Similar to the way dosing vodka works although safer I think since alot of people seem to run into problems when dosing vodka and I've never had any problems even when deliberately overdosing the stuff.

Agree here too. And my observations would be in line with what Richard says. I think "kind of like dosing Vodka" but safer. For me, with what's invested in my corals, I'll pay more for "safer".
