My 200gl tank has been up for 4 months now. HQI and Compaq lighting, large refug, 200+lbs premium live rock, great waterflow. Water params have been perfect since 1 month up. Calc could be higher (360 /9Dkh) but my calc react / wasser is not up yet (using a buffer though).
Having said that, I have three sprigs of Xenia in the tank for over 1 month and they do not seem to be doing so well. Their "surging" is not very active at all and their (tentacles, fingers or whatever they're called) are somewhat retracted and not nice and feathery as they should be.
I have had them on the bottom (low light) and have just recently moved them up in the tank (high light). Neither have achieved results. Have also changed up the waterflow
Maybe tank has just not been up long enough to make these guys happy? (still have no coraline algae growth on overflow/glass yet)......or could be calc related??
Have Naso Tang, Midas Blennie, Royal Gramma and 5 green chromis along with cleaner and blood shrimp, 2 sea slugs, a few snails, a few Emerald crabs and of course about 50 or so small blue legged hermits, some green Blastos, Frogspawn, several Ricordia, Zoos -all of them are very happy and thriving.
I know these things can be finicky and need to acclimate for a while before they are "happy" but I thought 1 month would be enough? Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.
