I have been looking at fish online and I noticed alot of them like to jump. I was thinking would an acrylic top that was 3 1/2 inches tall with no top but put a small lip around the top of the acrylic piece and this all would sit on the lip around the top of the tank. So it would just act as a barrier so if a fish jumped it would just hit the wall and bounce back in hopefully.
Has anyone done this? or seen this?

it probably wouldnt work, because when fish jusp, they jump over the edge... you could however, put the 3" lip, then put mesh, or some sort of netting over it.

I have seen this in pictures of other peoples tanks on the internet. Some also had a lip that came in an inch or so. It looked very effective if one had the room to use it. I use eggcrate myself where I dont have a hood. Cheap and works well, I do loose a small bit of light though.
