I know numerous persons on another forum for Austin reefers have had a positive experience with this vendor. The owner often makes deliveries to the Roundrock area if she happens to be going that way for other purposes and at least the involvement on that forum appears to be very cordial and considerate. I am surprised to hear about Texreefer's bad experience and sorry that it went like that.

Wow I ditto Enigmas comments. I drove to Monicas house and she hooked me up with rock. She was very friendly in the fact that I ended up being able to afford twice what I set out for. Also let me dig around for some extra inverts from her holding tank. She also did not look at me funny when I showed up with a 50g garbage can and told her I'd like to fill it with her water to fill my tank with when I was setting everything up.

I've also emailed her a few times saying when I'd like to come back to cherry pick pieces and she has always told me if it was a good time to come out or if stock was low thereby preventing an unecessary trip.

But I've never bought anything online.

In my defense, I am unsure of the problem with Texreefer as I dont remeber any problems I am thinking he had delt with Oceanpro Aquatics, I may be wrong but if I new there was a problem I could have taken care of it.

Seamonkey, I have never sold any product to at all. He was going to purchase with a gift certificate he had recived at one of the meeting and was not aware that there was a minimum purchase, so I had to resend gift certificate to Gary with all the info stating all the rules to be able to use them. I am sorry he got mad but I cant give $50.00 worth of animals and include shipping in with that, If I did I would no longer be in business.

Yes it was my fault for not being specific enough on the certificats, but that is no reason to bash me when you never bought anything. I was as nice as I could be but he would not understand I could not honer the certificate and include shipping with the certificat.

If you have a problem with me please address it with me first so I can try an rectify the problem, dont bash me and me not know what your talking about.

I've done business with Monica a couple times. I got what I ordered at the time we agreed I'd get it and at the price we'd agreed on. Since I live in Austin, we met at her sister's in Round Rock when she was coming in for a visit.

I think it's a good idea for people to share their vendor experiences, but personally I tend not to give much weight to criticism unless it's specific. I note things like "My order was 6 days late", "I ordered astraea snails and received ceriths", or "I sent them email 5 times and never got a response." I pass over generalized comments like "Their customer service sucks", "They are totally clueless", or "They were rude to me". I prefer specifics.

Although I've never bought anything from Monica, I did get the chance to meet here and sit down and talk quite a while with her and several others from the Houston area at our Port A trip. Seemed to be a nice enough person to me for what that's worth.

This thread should really be moved to the vendor experience forum if any Mods happen to see it.

Monica, you DO know me and YES you have done buisness with me in the past, my name is Jose and I bought a bunch of stuff from you when you were selling your mothers tank, I meet you and your husband at the parking lot of walmart by round rock, when I was working in Austin, I also PU some stuff for another person in Austin whom had bought it from you from the same sale, and I called you after I opened all of my boxes and realize that what I had paid for wasnt what I got.

all you said was "well sorry" and that was it, now if you want to PM me and discuss this with me fell free to do so, I'll even give you my cell #

my statement stays the same about you.

I will sent this to PM because I do remeber you buying my moms tank- the whole thing and you missing one peice of it a feather duster I think but as for anything else I dont remeber.

And when you bought my moms tank, I didnt have my own buisness then, I was just an individual helping my mom.

This should be in Vendor experience.

I will state again that Monica was the friendliest and easiest to deal with supplier I have ever dealt with.

When I set out to her place to buy 100lbs of LR I instead left with 280 LBS of rock, a box of salt, hydrometer, snails, hermits, stars all for what I thought I'd be spending for 100lbs. I ended up growing out 3 different leathers that were unseen on the rock. She did not hesitate, or laugh at me, when I told her I wanted 50g of her vat water to use for setting up my tank as I wanted the rock to settle in the same paramters as what it was bought in.

Jose it sounds to me like you have a problem with Monica's Mother, not her. I'd think from what you wrote you bought a tank from Monica's Mother and Monica just advertised it and helped you load it.

agree this should be moved IF is going to continue

and no I never dealt with Monica's mother, It was Monica the ONLY person I ever talked to about that deal

caferacermike if the leathers were UNSEEN they are called hichhickers, dont credit the vendors, for something they did not do for you.

I do not doubt that you had a good experience with her. Just because you did does not mean that Jose did not. Jose is a fair, stand up guy, I seriously doubt that he would be fabricating or exaggerating his claims. He tried to keep it private. I know people easily jump to someone's defense when they feel they are being unjustly (or even for good reason) attacked. It's human nature. I would just stress that's it's entirely possible that you had a really good experience with her and Jose did not. The fact that you did does not negate nor disprove his experience.

Consider this: I generally gauge someone's character not by how they act when things are going well but instead how they handle stress and bad/ugly situations. Most people are nice when everyone is making good on a deal and things are generally hunky dory....how they act when there is a problem really shows their true character though.

No Jose I just did not wish to argue it any further. I was only stating that from what I read in your descriptions and her response was that you bought a tank from her mother and I couldn't figure out how that made her liable. I was only stating the experience I had with her when I shopped at her place. Your comment about getting freebies not having anything to do with her was only an extra quip on your part and I only responded that as she may not have given me anything special it only showed that the rock was well cared for before I got it. That was it and I was done.

Oh and I'm done. I won't respond again so don't ask me to.

Mike- Thanks but this one does fall on me. My mom was selling her tank and Jose did buy everything on the inside of her 55gal, He did deal with me only as my mom didnt know how to do it, I loaded everything in boxes and brought it to Jose in Rockdale and I swore the tank was empty and it was but some how the feather duster was not in with all his stuff, He did let me know he was missing a peice but There was really nothing I could do as he got everything from the tank and the tank was empty, just a glass tank left, I guess I should have gave him money back or something. And I guess I handled it wrong when he told me about the missing duster. I honestly dont remeber what all was said as that was back in 2004 I belive maybe the begging of 05. I have apologized but that doesnt make very thing better.

:wacko :lol Everyone was done and happy.... You were down to one bad experience from everyone on MAAST...that's pretty good!

You just had to get the last word in...make sure that we all know that you feel that Jose is being an anal jerk over a measly feather duster. :blink

Only an egotistical jerk would quote himself:

You see this is the problem that we have here...

You want to do business with her, then do. If you don't., then don't. If you haven't, then you have no right to an opinion. Problems should be dealt with by PM and not on open forum because it brings out the riff-raff just to make a comment on basically their "soapbox opinion"

You will have people that have had no problems with the vendor and people that don't want to deal with them again. I have vendors and people that I feel the same in both directions, good and bad. Just deal with it professionally.

RNall, I was just explaining to Mike that it was my fault for what happend. I was not trying to make Jose look like anything, he is a good guy. I am not mad at him or discrediting him at all.

I did PM Jose and I am very sorry for the problem that happend.

So this right here is uncalled for: Everyone was done and happy.... You were down to one bad experience from everyone on MAAST...that's pretty good!

You just had to get the last word in...make sure that we all know that you feel that Jose is being an anal jerk over a measly feather duster.

OK, well I thought that my comment about letting this go, didn't take, so since is MY name and comment that sparked this, I'll take on it

I'll always defend my name and reputation against all, for I always do the honorable thing, I do not make others look bad so I look good, that is idiotic and if I am wrong, I'll apologize retract and correct myself, as I have before, but not this time

Monica, as I told you in the PM, let this go, I have, your comments are starting to **** me off, ONCE AGAIN is not the feather duster is the way you told me "to bad" that made me post the fact that I would not do buisness with you, is my personal opinion, and I will not spend my money in your store, others had good buisness dealings with you, that is their deal, NOT MINE, so if you insist in getting on my bad side that is totally up to you, so for the last time, DO NOT USE MY NAME AGAIN, drop it, GOT IT

As Ron pointed out, if some of you look back, I asked her to pm me so we can handle this privately, she pm me and posted back in here, so what is it, pm or public

I'll tell you what, NO ONE drags my name and gets away with it.

One last thing and I quit.

Jose, you are a good guy. My last post I admited to my wrong by mishandeling the situation. I have no harsh or bad feelings tward you at all. I only posted what happen after Pm'ing you because I saw Mike did not understand and I didnt wont him to pounceon you like that when it was my fault not yours or my mom's.

I did not intentionaly drag your name and if it seemed I did I am sorry once again.

To all- Yes, all of this was my fault and I mishandel what happen'd with Jose.

I am done.
