Well, Matt got me interested in these new pumps and now I want two of them. These are really going to help out the nano community because of the added flow from such a tiny pump. This thing is going to be no bigger than a rio 200 and put out at least 3 times as much water flow.

Here is the link to the .pdf:

http://www.tunze.com/fileadmin/downloads_en/interzooen.pdf

I can't wait till these come out and I can get my hands on two of the 6025s.

Premium aquatics has then for $61, $96, and $202. But they're not due out until the end of year.

I saw something about them becoming available sometime between October, at the earliest, and January. Looks like my tank might get a nice Christmas present.

I would love to have the 6055s, but they are really pricey. I don't know if I can justify paying for a setup with 2 pumps and a controller just so I can reduce the power to what I would like it to be. I would be spending almost half of what it cost to get my tank put together. I can justify two of the $65 streams that are controlled by my ReefKeeper 2.

I've got a pair of the 6025s and a pair of the 6045s on pre order. I'm going to choose the ones that work best in my tank and sell the other pair. Apparently a few of the 6025s and 45s will be available soon, while the 6055s are not due until the end of 2006.

There's one guy in front of you, but if he passes you can have 'em. I was going to say, didn't you just sell your tank, but then I saw you're setting up a nano with the solaris. Between that and the nanostreams, you're going to have a very low wattage (no heat!) tank.

Those look awesome... should be a great little pump(s) for my 30g oceanic cube

hmm, I'm thinking two 6025's for my 30 'cube'

Since they are DC motors shouldnt you theoretically be able to alter the voltage to change the flow? (generally can't do that with AC motors but usually can with DC)

Though only the 6055 is supposed to work with their mutlicontroller... hmm wonder if that's just marketing or if they really make it with different motor/electronics (other than the plug required for the mult. controller)

Im thinking about a pair to the 6025's hooked up to a reefkeeper2...

Is there any reason these would not work well on a 90 gallon tank? It seems like everyone talking about them is looking at them for a nano. I hate looking at the SEIOs in my tank because of the size. It sounds like they would pump out plent of flow.

Thanks,
Kevin

"just talked to tunze rep (@ Austin)
he said the release date is scheduled for the last week of September to the first week of October, so we still have a good month to wait.

6025 will push an 18 inch wall around 24 inches
6045 will push an 18 inch wall around 36 inches
and the controlable one will require a single/multi controller and can be adjusted to 2 different speeds ranging from 30% - 100% of its power."

What does "push an 18" wall" mean?

I'm just hoping that 660gph is not too much flow in my 25g tank. I really don't want a hurricane blowing in my tank and screwing everything up.

There's a big thread on this on RC in the tunze forum. Everyone's still guessing how to interpret the descriptions of flow; which is why I ordered a pair of the 6045s and 6025s. I described my tank setup and the Roger the tunze rep said "go with the 6045s". To me it seems like a LOT, 2200gph in a tank about the size of a 40 breeder.

Basically he's saying that the 6025s are for really small tanks, under 29 gallons. He says that on the 6025s the flow is undetectable more than a couple of feet from the source.

I think 660gph flow will be detectable in a 25g tank. It is a gentle flow right?

I ordered 2 6025s for my 22g, I think it will be perfect for what Im keeping, all SPS

After reading the nanostream thread on RC, i am beginning to picture all my animals swaying gently to and fro, every 10-15 mins. I don't like that you can't have these pumps on anything less than a 5 min cycle, and that is pushing it.

The fact that you 'pre-ordered' doesn't mean anything on the PA site. Once they get their streams in they will send out an e-mail and then it's first come first serve. It doesn't place you in any line ahead of anyone else. Did you provide any payment info or did you just place your name and e-mail info? If you go to myreefcreations, you can actually place your order by supplying them with a credit card number and they will charge it once they come in and ship out. I read this on the RC thread in the Tunze forum. It's on one of the last pages if you read through it.

Hmmm....that's not what they told me at Premium. They said people would be contacted in the order that they are on the list, as they expect to receive fewer units than they have orders for at first. I'll call them again to make sure. I don't mind pre-paying...thanks for the heads up.

This is a post from Pico1 over at ReefCentral:
"This is what premium aquatics e-mailed me, I don't think anyone can be at the top of the wait list:

The wait list is just a computer program that holds your email online. When we restock, it sends you a little email with a link to the product saying it's back in stock. So it doesn't hold the item for you, but doesn't obligate you either."
