Looking for anyone that has had experience with these... i have 4 returns in my tank (2each) fed by an 800gph pump that i would like to hook two SCWD's up to

They work great! Ive used several over the years, the trick to keeping them going is a good pre-filter, without one they'll eventualy lock up.

I like SCWDs. I've got two SCWDs on a Mag 12 (1200GPH) running a closed loop for two years with no problems. There are 4 nozzles running two at a time. The flow is somewhat restricted though.

I have two running each on mag 12s. They work great and are cheaper than a wave maker(energy cost). Nice random flow patterns.

As far as I know they never have...
Im with you though, Ive heard mixed reviews, but mostly negative ones about the reduced flow and noise...

JimD - What do you use as a prefilter? Mine is just a piece of PVC with 1/8" holes drilled into it. My SCWD failed after 10 months - maybe due to inadequate prefiltering?

I spoke with the manufacturer just last week and they expect to come out with a SCWD with 1" connections at the end of this year. That should help significantly with the SCWD's only fault that I can see, which is decreased flow.

Im using a sponge filter over the intake and clean it 2-3 times a week, theyve run flawlessly for 4 years. Running one on a Mag 12 closed loop and it really moves some water. No problem with any type of noise whatsoever. Guess Im just special.
