I have a 55 gallon with a plastic piece running inbetween the middle. I am getting a 400w metal halide to instal and to make sure it covers everything I will place it in the middle. Will it melt the plastic seperater? Any suggestions?

well if its close to plastic to melt it. then its to close to the water.. you would be making some soup.. lol Just make sure you have some fans on it for good venting.
