yesterday I bought a rock of GSP, when I went to put it in thetank I noticed a worm or caterpillar looking critter about 1" long and 1/4" thick, it was dark purple nearly the same color as the encrusting GSP and it had tiny little tentacle looking appendages all over it's body. I removed it and for the time being have it in my QT tank. Any ideas what it is. I can't get a pic of it right now but hopefully someone will have seen one before and know what I am talking about!

Do a Google image search for "bristleworm" and see if thats what you have.

As you probably read in your google description, do not touch the offending creature with your hands. Worse than a cactus.

WOW NO!!! it didn't mention it, but I used a butter knife to knock it off into a bowl anyway thankfully!
