As much as I would like to support the LFS here in Killeen, Tx I just cant seem to spend that much money. Example: $39 for a yellow tang. :sick

What on-line store has the best price for clean up crews shipped to your door?

This place makes me sick!!!!!!!

There is (all way overpriced):

Fins and Flowers- Copperas Cove
Aqua Pets and Birds- Killeen

Fish Bowl Express- Temple, They are the better of the three but $$$

Ebay vendors tend to have good pricing and most are willing to ship using USPS 3 day so shipping is generally less than $10. I buy groups of 200 3/4" nassarius snails about once every 3 months. I have to buy that many as my wrasse likes to eat them. I ususally pay no more than $23 shipped to my door.

I just moved here so I have no idea. There selection is not that great. Maybe 5-6 small tanks. They don't even sale buckets of salt, just the small bags. Also, none of them no what a bulkhead is.

I grew up in the Killeen area, Aqua Pets and Birds has been around at least 15 years. I used to think their saltwater tanks were the greatest looking tanks ever. They used to have a 125 gallon or so tank filled with condy anemones and all sorts of mushrooms lit by NO fluorescent lighting. Over the years, I've seen much better tanks, but I still remember that tank is the one that got my in the hobby. The pickings are slim in that part of the world for saltwater fish/corals unless you're willing to drive.

I'd suggest reeftopia.com for cleanup crew options. They have good prices and customer service if you'd like to order directly from a vendor. Saltwaterfish.com also has good packages. Another option, as Mike said, is ebay. You can get some really good deals on ebay if you want to go that route. Aquatek, Austin Aquariums, River City Aquatics, etc, in Austin normally have a good selection of cleanup critters at decent prices if you're coming down this way any time soon.

i havent really lived in killeen since summer 01. i grew up in killeen, drove almost every street and neighborhood, and have never heard of Aqua Pets and Birds. if i had known that there was something other than "cough" walmart "cough", and the store in the mall, i probably would of gotten an aquarium earlier than 3 years into college

Aqua Pets is on Hallmark street off of N Ft Hood btw Rancier and 190. I moved from the area in 2000 and haven't been back into the store, but it is still there. I spent lots of money there growing up when I was getting into saltwater tanks. :-)

you know what i slightly remember that store (hallmark street goes past the old sizzlerand winn dixie towards 440 plaza), it used to be on rancier near the burger king and old rancier middle school. i just dated myself to how long ive been in killeen(i was born the same year the mall opened and walmart was too far away from being opened)
