Alright, that *&)%&()$# clark clown female MUST be moved! Just about every fish in the tank has at least 1 bite mark from her. My poor foxface gets the brunt of the attacks. (Kind of odd she goes after the biggest one!)
However, it is a 75 gallon tank with LOTS of rock. She is sly and quick. I have been halfway in that tank the last 3 nights in a row for over an hour. My husband is getting tired of my ranting. :P There is no way I am catching her with the net...make that 2 nets. I was trying to scare her into one with the other. There are just too many holes that I can't cover up. I put food in the net thinking that she would come closer...but no. If I were only trying to catch any other fish in the tank! <_< I DO NOT want to take my rockwork apart. I've got too many critters that might get smushed...plus it's a big pain.
Suggestions?? I want to put her in her own tank (possibly with her mate). I can't leave her in there to beat up on everybody.

I'm at the point where if you can get her out, you can HAVE her! :lol

Plus, what if I got her through the eye or something. I want to move her not possibly mortally wound her.

Possibly get a fine mesh net and put some shrimp in it so it won't just fall through. See if the clown will swim up to eat out of it and blindside it with another net....
Or I always liked my wet/dry vac idea. I've never tested it but I'm always looking for volunteers for some R & D in the idea. :skeezy :P

You can try and cut a flap door on a 2 liter bottle and put the food inside and she shoulld swim inside and jus close the flap and pull her out. Has worked almost everytime for me.

I used a 3 liter soda bottle cut about 80% where the neck gets large and fishing line for a release. I set it on the bottom with food in it, all the fish would go in and eat. It took three days before my Regal would go in but he finally did.

You could buy a fish trap if you want to spend the money.

Hehehe! The wet/dry vac sounds like fun! :lol
I put some shrimp in one of the nets to get her to come out, but it didn't work.
I assume that if I get a big enough bottle, all of my fish could go in and I can decide who is in and out from there. :lol
I had a bottle that I was trying to use as a feeding station for my mandarin. Not really effective for him yet, but my foxface got himself stuck in there! :D The clown has yet to go near it.
Hmm...maybe I could get some black mussels. Of course, then I will definitely have everybody beating down the door to get in. :)

watching to see what works. i have the same trouble with a cinnamon clown. she really isnt hurting anyone but she tries. sheh is so defiant and tricky that she will let me get within an inch of her and then she will stay exactly an inch away no matter where i move nor how fast i go, and she bites me.

Yeah, if you put your finger or face close to the glass the thing rushes over and bites the glass! :wacko

Try using small to medium peices of egg create to box it in on one corner of the tank, then just reach in and grab it.

Try leaving in there for a day to let the clown get sued to it, that what I had to do now he goes in the trap every time I feed.

And lose a finger at the knuckle!!! :o
Just kidding. :P I do think I will put some food in a trap and see what happens. I'll keep you posted.
In the meantime, if you guys have any other suggestions, let me know. I need all the ammo (maybe literally :P ) I can get.

I use Ace's technique. Forget the nets. Just chase the thing around for a bit. Every where it goes, put your hand there. Wear a rubber glove if you need to. After a while, they get tired (so do you!), and won't even move.

Just get a big trashcan or two and pump all the water out, leave all the rock like it is, just pump the water out until theres just a puddle left then grab the fish!

Actually, we got her out last night. Apparently, what is needed is a husband. :P With both of us working, we were able to corner her and he hoisted her out! She has now been put in the "time out" tank (10gal) until I set up my 30 gallon that I thought I had no use for. Now I am going to need to buy an "el cheapo" stand and filter for it. Geez! a tank just for 1 fishie. <_< Well, maybe 2. I'll probably put her mate and an anemone or toadstool in there. Maybe this would be a good place for a clam or sps tank later??? :skeezy
