Is This the way to do it? 1 gallon of water mixed with 2 cups of espom salt? and slowly let out in the aquarium?

only add magnesium as needed to bring the mag level to twice that of your calcium level and you should only be concerned with this if you have a good amount of corals growing. you must be testing for calc, alk, mag and ph to keep these levels balanced.

Huh? The mag level in NSW is about 1300-1400 ppm. That's over 3 times the level of calcium. Calcium in NSW is 420 ppm. 800 ppm magnesium is very low.

If you're using RO/DI water, isn't evrything being removed anyway? I mean, they are disolved solids, right? It seams to me you'd have to add anything extra that does not come in the salt mix.
What do I know, though. I don't need to add any of that "fancy stuff."
