Hello, my name is Cheri Byrd, for those who don't know me, I'm Bigbird123's (Steve) wife. I don't know how others feel about what Leslea and her family is going thru but it has really touched my heart. As a mother, I could never imagine the uncertainty and fear Leslea must be going thru. As a parent, it seems so easy to take for granted that all children will be born healthy until it happens to you.

For those of you unaware of what i am talking about, here are the links with information:

I really want to help Leslea, Richard and Baby Abigail. From the way it sounds, she will be away from her home for a while. What Steve and I would like to do is start a donation fund to help Leslea & Richard with a place to stay, food or whatever they may need while they are going thru this. I see how "Mastards" help each other out with some sort of a tank crisis. I'd like to see how MAAST as a group could help out a fellow "Mastard" in Life Crisis. A special fund in the Marsh treasury has been set-up, with the help of Shane, Marsh Pres. Please contribute whatever you can. I know the economy is tuff right now with gas prices like they are. Any contribution will be appreciated. Let's show them what it means to be FAMILY. Please note that ALL money sent to this fund will go directly to Leslea and Baby Abigail.

We would like to be the first to donate with $100 and say, Leslea, we love you and pray for Abigail's speedy recovery.

Sincerely with our hearts.
Steve and Cheri Byrd

Steve,

It is not a lot, but I hope this can help.

"You have sent a secure payment of $20.00 USD to MARSH"

I don't have any kids, and it looks like we won't have any... so I will pray for all the kids that are already alive to be healthy.

First of ALL, Thanks and I got one I can send you for a couple of weeks, so you can see what your missing. "Course it'll cost you for me to come and take him back! Not! My kids are an amazing miracle and wouldn't take anything for them. But as their parent, sometimes I'd give you all I got to give us a break sometimes! LOL! You don't know how much it means to have someone who doesn't have kids, to be touched by this. Again, I thank you.

Steve

Baby Abigail is definitely not out of the woods yet. Being about 15 weeks premature, she is a fighter. She was born just over two pounds so this is a miracle in itself. Right now they are located at the Ronald McDonald House, so any help for their family is appreciated. Some of us here in MARSH are going to send a few care packages for Leslea and the baby, so if you fell inclined, I am sure she appreciates the support.

Here is a message I got from Leslea today...

So I go to Marsh website this morning and see the front page. Considering I never look at the front page (usually go straight to the forum) all I can say is WOW and I'm sitting here at the computer at Rondald McDonald House crying in the middle of the family room. I really don't know what to say guys to that but thank you from the bottom of my heart. I can report some good news on Abby, she opened both of her eyes for the first time yesterday when I was standing outside of her little incubator. It was such an overwhelming moment to be there to experience it and I'm sure we'll have many more first moments. Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart and I hope to see everyone soon.
