cool. i found a 2" round piece of some sort of encrusting coral on my live rock.. thought it was dead but now has gotten really brown and has great polyp extension

I had the same thing. It changed from brown to a bright blue. It lived through a tank change, neglect, and abuse from a crazy clown fish, not to mention the low light it was getting. Then once I finally stepped up to metal halides the stoopid thing died. It just makes no sense.

I love freebies too: Aptasia, bubble algae, tiny stars, mantis shrimp...

I'm thinking of starting a nano with nothing but nuisance pests! Maybe something will wipe them all out!

Boiling water might work. Except for the aiptasia.

I'm thinking of starting a nano with nothing but nuisance pests! Maybe something will wipe them all out!

I think murphy's law is that if you TRY to keep them they will die easily. Either that or you'll spend all your time trying to kill off the nuisance acros that keep pushing out all the aiptasia and bubble algae your trying to keep.
