Any of the buffers will work. The solid products like Kent Super DKH are cheaper, but are a bit more trouble because you have to mix up a liquid. For a small tank like yours and drip it in. A liquid product should be fine. As for Magnesium, any of them are fine. Seachem is the only company I know that sells a solid product. Mag is a lot easier, and you can just mix it in a glass full of water and pour it in, or even put a spoon full of the solid in a high flow area or a sump to dissolve.

Your welcome.
Of course, your local production selection down there is probably pretty thin. So, let me know what you have available down there and we'll see what would work best for you.

Louie, go to ACRO and check on how you can go about making your own DIY alk and cal suppliments. I started a thread a couple of months back on the DIY recipe. Its better than a lot of these suppliments. check it out

I'm going to get a big black cauldron to start making my aquarium additives! I'll need a big hat and some thunder and lightning sound effects too. :wacko
This recipe looks great! I am looking forward to trying it. It will be nice to dose all at once, and not spend a fortune doing it.
Thanks for the link. ^_^

baking soda will work fine for the alkalinity. They have that where you live, don't they? As far as the magnesium goes, epsom salts will work, just make sure you test for magnesium before adding any.
Here's a good site to help you figure out how much:

Louie:
Remember...don't add anything to your tank unless you are able to measure it. It's easy to overdose a tank. If you don't already have them, get good test kits for Alk/Ca/Mg. This will help you fine tune your parameters, and, go slow.
