How do I know if my anemone is dead??
She's been close for 2 days... her tentacles are tiny!
She is a Sebae Anemone.. and she is usually between brown and dark green... today she is just dark green... hasn't bleached...
Any suggestions?
All the parameters are fine...
The only change is the calcium... I changed from Kent Calcium to B-Ionic. :wacko

Any that I have seen die turn to mush in a day or so. My bud bought a carpet and it died in 2 days, that thing messed up his tank. Swirl your hand around it and if it dissolves it's gone. If it holds up it might be ok.

Don't by another one. they don't live long in captivity.

Try to determine if it's dead GENTLY. If it is, then SIPHON it out. Those things can really poison a tank when they go.

just watch it closely. dont mess with it. if it is dying it will probably develope lesions or sores. though i have a BTA that just recovered from a tear in its trunk that the insides were pouring out of for a couple of weeks. now it is fine. i have seen them do all kinds of disturbing things and turn out just fine, or recover from injuries. has it been in your tank long?
