Yup, someone probably bought it when it was 2 inches long for their 10 gal tank. :blink because someone stupid told them, It's ok, the fish ONLY GROWS to the size of the tank! Now that I think about it, it was probably my neighbor, he ALWAYS buys stuff that gets too big and releases it in the wild. It is a pretty fish. I hope whoever caught it put it back.

You think that might clean the algae in my wife's FW tank?

I don't know if it would have enough sucking power, try a Kirby Vac.

I on the other hand, would not put it back. One of the biggest problems we face today in most of our rivers and lakes are fish species that were released in the wild with no regard as to what it can do to the indigenous species. Many do vast amounts of harm. If you can't find a tank for it, kill it....but don't put it back!!!

I second that. The plecos are tearing up the river banks here in the San Marcos river. You can scoop them out by the hundreds with a net.

The TPW list the record suckermouth catfish (Pleco??) at 17". Looks like that might beat it.
I'm suprised TPW tracks records for things like these (oscars, pacu, etc.)...

Someone needs to release some Peacock bass in there and make it a decent place to fish. ;)
Peacock Bass would be great but they do have some decent size Reds out there. Thursday night they caught a 35" red.

Pleco's wont live thru the winter in a pond unless were talking BIG pond and deep. The average one here is just too small. I tried one in my 4000. Pleco didn't make it thru the winter.
