When your tank settles I can help you with the blue ones w/brown and dark blue fringe. Others as well. The birds eyes, green fringe orange ring, blue mouthed. The pink with the purple fringe and about 30 other color combos. Sorry to hear about the loss. Was it Cyano?

Red cottony algae? I cant remember the name of it but that stuff took over my 40 reef. It took me a year of pulling, brushing, scrubbing ( and more water changes) to get it under control. Even urchins wouldnt eat it!

Asparagopsis taxiformis is the species name of this algae. It started on a coral I got from an infested tank (coral was clean). It started on that coral and quickly spread to other rocks. Once it got so bad and I realized that grazers werent going to take care of this stuff I resorted to pulling rocks out and scrubbing them with a toothbrush. That would take care of the bulk of it but it would always come back. I got some new bulbs for my fuge lighting, increased water changes, added a tuxedo urchin, more hermits and turbos, phosphate sponge, etc .. I finally have it under control but it still grows in my fuge but is the minority species in there (after 1 year of none in the main tank). I cant really point to any one thing that helped control it. Maybe it was the yelling?

yelling and stomping your feet is a pretty effective algae control regimen. i use this method almost exclusively.
