Sand Bed

My tank is like 8 months old.
My sand bed is like 1.5 inches, I would like to put more sand. Can I do it anytime??
Is this possible?

If yes.. I would have to move the LR around, would this affect the tank or the parameters?

I would like to add more sand to my fuge as well.

Any recomendations?

Yes, You can add more, just a little at a time.

I add sand to my tank all the time. Usually just a little where the fish have moved it around but the principle is the same.

Here's what I do. I take a piece of 3" PVC and make a funnel by cutting off the bottom of a milk jug. Put the PVC into the tank, with one end resting on the bottom. Just scoop the sand into the milk jug until you fill the PVC up. Then just raise and lower the PVC up and down and the sand will slowly flow out. By moving the PVC around you can place the sand whereever you want it. The sand will eventually filter back in between the live rock. You don't have to move the LR.
