I've had my band shark for 5 months and it has been doing great. Tonight when i went to feed he never came out. Then a couple of hours later it was up front and trying to swim. When it tryed to swim it would swim up sidedown then hit the bottom of the tank. Any ideas?

I'm no shark expert but checking the water parameters would be my first course of action.

Sorry for your loss. I'm not a shark expert either, but you might want to check any electrical device you have in the water. I believe sharks are very sensitive to stray voltage. A powerhead or something that may have been fine a few days ago could be going bad.

Again, I'm not a shark guy, but I have also read they are are sensitive to copper. If you accidently added some water from an LFS that was using copper treated water for Ich control this could have been the cause.

Just a shot in the dark.

i looked at powerheads and tested all test on water, everything checked out good. i use water from my ro/di and it was tested too. i guess it was his time to go.

Those guys are selling blacktips, spinners, atlantic sharpnose and bonnet heads. Do those guys realize you would need several thousand gallons to raise any one of those sharks? Uhh sounds like a fisherman selling his catch to the highest bidder!
