jacked with my skimmer before i went to bed last night and forgot to re-adjust it. this morning 5 gallons of water was on floor,.. but thats not bad part.. bad part was i had to go to work. so while i was at work my ro/di system replaced my saltwater with nice fresh filtered water and my SG was at 1.016 by the time i got home.. talk about a long day.. all i had in tank were some green chromis and I lost 3 of my 7. i am sloowly bringing SG back in line over next few hours but man how stupid was that for someone whos been working with reef tanks and saltwater for over 10 years :angry :wacko

welcome to the club, now you just have to upgrade to the GOLD membership,(that's over 40ga) and then to the PLATINUM (you don't want to know how much salt water takes to be a member LOL)

At least you didn't glue your fish's lips together.

Now that was funny.

BTW, I did similar but caught it right before my sump started to overflow. On mine I had accidentally layed the power cord to my skimmer pump on top of float valve to my sump. By the time my wife noticed since it's in the garage I had probably added an additional 50 gallons of FW to my system. Luckily it didn't overflow yet and it didn't kill anything.

We should have kept those pics in a sticky somewhere for future use. Use it as a public anouncment or something for "What to do when good fish go bad".

The funny thing is that it could have happened to any of us. It was just funnier because of who it happened to, who shall remain nameless. :)

OK, back on topic. Hmmmm.... Low salinity.

Reefer glues frag, yellow tang nibbles at glue, yellow tangs lips get glued shut, reefer posts pic saying "look what I did," rest of reefers crack up.

That's the readers digest version anyway. You had to be there.
