I think it depends on the needs of your system. Tunze pumps can easily be controlled for constant pulse action that is preferable in some instances. Closed loops have plenty of benefits too, not the least of which is a significantly lower cost. I think to get an accurate answer it would be helpful if you could provide a little more info w/ regard to the system you will be setting up.

For fish and a few softies don't spend your money on tunzes, they don't need that much flow. I think 72X24X17 is more than 125, isn't it? Same size 7" taller is a 180. Sounds like a nice size/shape tank.

I agree, I wouldnt spend the cash on water movement, Id spend it on filtration, fish only tanks can be extremely messy. Those dimentions calculate out to be roughly 127 gallons.

i opted for a tunze instead of closed loop on my 40gand do you get alot of sandstorms, or what did you do to control sand blowing everywhere i have one in my 75 reef and the sand is everywhere!!!! :angry
